Do you also offer Summer music lessons?Summer Music lessons begin June 7, 2010 and end Labor Day.Yes and we waive your registration fee for Fall registration and also offer priority Fall registration each student that chooses to take at least ten half-hour classes throughout the summer or enrolls in a music summer camp. We'll provide you with a summer registration form on which you pre-request your most desired days/times for summer lessons from June 7- Sept 3, 2010. We then work to match your scheduling requests and invoice you for those summer lessons that we are able to offer. This helps prevent scheduling overlaps with preplanned vacationing and your personal summer activity scheduling. Please complete a Fall 2010 registration form to choose your Fall 2010 - Spring 2011 times even if you're requesting a similar time for Fall. Your instructor's teaching schedule or your personal availability for the Fall may change. We're happy that we accommodate a large number of families and we won't know your personal schedule unless we have the new completed written request. We only know what times you desire if you complete the new form and turn it in. Thanks! Summer 2010 Private Music Lessons Request Form.
How do I enroll for summer 2010 lessons/classes?
A Summer 2010 Registration Form will be available to download. We'll do our best to accommodate your scheduling needs. You are enrolled once we confirm your schedule with your first month's payment.
What if I miss a Summer music lesson? In the summer, our instructors' teaching schedules change and are set in May for the summer months. This allows us to accommodate staff scheduling, travel, touring and vacations. Unfortunately, we cannot offer make-up lessons or rescheduled lessons in the summer. Our Summer Registration Form allows students to enroll in as many or as little lessons as they please. This is so that we can help you schedule around your personal summer plans. Students pick and choose which lesson days/times that fit their schedules for the summer. Once students turn in the request, we confirm the lesson dates/times that we can match with you before actually scheduling & charging for the summer lessons. You are only charged for the varying weeks that you've requested in writing on your enrollment form that we can match. You are charged if you missed the scheduled lesson(s)/camp and no refunds are given.
Do I need an instrument?Yes. Confidence is
built through practice. We cannot supply instruments. All students are
required to have their own instrument for practice. Guitarists, most
band and strings students must bring their own instrument to lessons.
Ask us, we'll refer to local merchants that rent or sell instruments.
Guitar students must bring their own guitar chord to each lesson.
What about materials?
Students
are responsible for the purchase of music/materials. All
classes/lessons require materials. Your instructor will suggest the
material. We'll refer you to local music stores and websites. Once you
purchase your materials, you'll need to bring them to each lesson.
Some camp fees include the materials.
How do I choose an
instructor?
We have wonderful instructors at our music
school. We start by asking you what your most convenient lesson time
would be and then help you choose the instructor based on your
schedule. You may also choose the instructor based on their
availability. We want to match the personalities and needs of the
student to the best instructor for your musician.
We're super excited that you're interested in music lessons or classes at our school! Parents of enrolled private lesson students are welcome to visit their own student's private lessons. However, please understand that we can't allow you to drop-in to another student's lesson or class without the permission of the enrolled childrens' parents. If it's a class that you are not actually enrolled in (even if you are enrolled on a different day/class at the school), a "stranger" watching them could make the kids uncomfortable because they don't know you. They're parents would also be concerned. Please remember that we need to keep a comfortable enviornment for children. Even if you know some of the kids in the class, your prescence could cause a distraction that keeps the instructor refocusing the children on the lesson and not on your prescence. We do provide a "Bring a Friend to Lessons" opportunity!
Can the music school offer babysitting services?
No. We don't carry a daycare license and our staff cannot offer sitting services. Thank you for arriving/picking up your musician in a timely manner. We appreciate your courtesy. Unattended Children info
What ages are accepted?
We welcome newborn to 7 years of ages for Kindermusik movement and music classes. Ages 4 to 6 are welcome for Music For Little Mozart's Group Piano classes. Kindergarten students to adult are welcome for private music lessons. Please check the age/skill prerequisite for other group classes. We offer lessons for the young musician to the "young at heart"!
Are you a music store?
We're a music school that offers music lessons and can refer you to local music stores.
What are your office hours?
Our music lessons are offered Monday - Friday. Because we're not a music store, our lesson times are by appointment. Administration hours are 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm Monday - Thursday.
We are so happy that you are interested in the study of music. We also welcome the "handicapble"! We want the music lesson experience to be productive and comfortable for everyone. For the comfort of our students & team, please inform us if your musician has an emotional or physical challenge that we should be should be aware of so that we can do our best to accommodate you.
